The Winnipeg Regional Health Authorities want to hear from you!

What does good health care look like to you? Tell us about your experiences accessing healthcare services. How can we improve healthcare in Winnipeg? What’s working well?

Join them for a focus group discussion about health and health care. Whether you are, or have been a patient, client, resident, or have supported someone through their health journey, you have a valuable perspective of healthcare services, and what is needed for a healthy community that we need to hear. Results from the focus groups will be used to inform the Winnipeg Health Region’s 5-year strategic plan. For this plan to work, it is important to learn from the experiences and insights of the people we serve.

Nurses Week!

Nurses Week!

Meadowood is proud to recognize all nurses for the quality of care they provide to patients, clients and long-term care residents. Meadowood Manor depends on the commitment, care, and work of our Nursing department!

“The commitment of nurses needs to be celebrated every week of every year. But it is especially important at this moment, as we still find ourselves in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nurses and other health-care workers have shown extraordinary commitment and professionalism in the midst of this crisis. But sadly, health care workers are exhausted, and often feared for their health and their family’s health. The lack of personal protective equipment showed an unacceptable gap in our system. There has also been a considerable strain on the mental health of too many staff. Health and safety must be now and forever a top priority. We need to care for those who care for us.

In the context of this pandemic, we have seen a greater public appreciation of the work done by nurses and all health care workers. Rightfully, they are recognized as heroes. In the face of our country’s worst health care crisis in modern times, we salute their courage and dedication.”

External Visiting Shelters

We are happy to announce our new External Visiting Shelters are up and running. The new pods provide additional safety for visiting. They are attached to our facility by a heated, covered walkway. A separate entrance provides access from the outside for visitors. Before coming, visitors will need an appointment and will be screened to ensure they are healthy and eligible to visit. The visitation shelters have an air exchange, designed to help prevent air borne viruses from spreading. An HVAC is installed in each shelter -to draw in fresh air from the facility, pushing it out of the pod. Bookings for External Shelter Visits can be made by Designated Caregivers and General Visitors.

Check out our External Visiting Shelters video for more details
